What I would like to share below is from one of the 30-Day Challenges that included 20 participants. What is so great about the results is that it was accomplished during the toughest time of the year (October/November) with unhealthy foods plentiful and tempting.

In just 30 days, individual weight loss was up to 19 lbs and body fat loss up to 5.31%!

Fat loss is so important because when are able to lose fat and maintain lean mass, the weight will stay off because the metabolism stays high. Losing just “scale” weight risks the yo-yo effect of losing then regaining the weight. So, you may ask, how do you lose fat without losing muscle? The caloric and nutrient intake is crucial as well as the type and duration of exercise. 

What gets me most excited, though, is what’s happening on the inside due to the elimination of toxic and pro-inflammatory foods and the inclusion of high, nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory foods.

More changes happened:

Improved sleep, energy, mental clarity, lower LDL cholesterol, stable blood sugar, and more… Elimination of sugar/carb cravings, migraines/headaches, pain meds, joint pain, and more….

 “Starting in June 2018, I set my mind to drop some pounds after my doctor said that I was severely overweight and needed to drop 30 lbs after a couple of health issues popped up. I started cleaning up my eating and made exercise a part of my life routine instead of a secondary thing I fit in when I could. Started doing some intermittent fasting. It was all working ok but it only got me so far. I hit a wall.

“Cholesterol is one of my family genetics issues... even so everyone in my family is slim and does a lot of sport and does not eat packaged food ... almost everyone has to be eventually on meds. My goal has been to avoid medication ... for years I had my cholesterol between 210 and 240 and LDL between 130 and 160. 2015 (i think it was the first program i did with you diane) i went below 200 and still had LDL of 130. Since then I cut out most meat and sometimes fish. I do like cheese which is my weakness. Additionally, I started cutting sugar and every year my cholesterol level has gone down.

This year after the 30 day [challenge]....169 total cholesterol and 98 LDL ... I’m so happy and proof this diet is my path.... yipee 😀”

I didn't experience any of the acid reflux I'd had fairly regularly before the challenge. During the 30 day challenge we had a couple of "cheat days"...Thanksgiving and another family dinner. We learned we can do a de-tox day afterward with smoothies and salads to offset those eating events...a lesson we will carry on after the 30 day challenge. While the most benefit from the program comes from shifting permanently to an organic, non-processed plant-based diet, we now know we can occasionally eat a meal out and have a glass of wine without losing the motivation and benefits such a diet offers.
